There's something about photography, it's so colorful pretty it looks so tasty. I've always been attracted to it. I love how bright and colorful the food appears with natural lighting. Once day I was making myself a small lunch then I decided to get my camera out and shoot a few pictures. Oranges are one of my favorite fruits and making fresh squeezed orange juice is even better. No juice from the grocery store can compare to an all natural fresh squeezed orange juice. Not sure what it is about broccoli but it's so darn good! It feels like every time I see a nice food photo I get a bit hungry, the images feel so real! Here's a few images of my lunch and juice preparation.

A year ago we met the lovely Dame of all Trades and had the chance to collaborate with her. She's a super talented photographer/ videographer. She just is talented at everything! Anyhow, we had previously worked with her, styling a few of her winter pieces for her online shop The Find Shop. Please check it out she has some awesome pieces. We recently worked with her and styled some #summerlooks using items from her store. Enjoy the video and stay tuned for more projects with this lovely talented little lady. She is a DFW based blogger / vlogger so if anyone wants to collaborate she's up for it.

This is an article I wrote for my schools newspaper. I decided to tittle this post #stylecrime because tacky pajamas on a college campus are a crime. At the end I take more of a blogger stance and have pictures of looks that can help you master the pajama trend.
Here's the link to the website if you want to read the article on there.

They may be comfortable, but in most cases, pajama pants are not ideal for a learning environment.
Many students enjoy dressing comfortably. Unfortunately, there are a few students who might take the comfort level a little too far by wearing pajama pants on campus.

Brookhaven College student Liz Cortez said dirty pajama pants look bad but nice clean ones do not. Cortez said she wishes she had the guts to wear pajamas on cam- pus. Opposing that point, student Kayla Bond said it does not take that much effort to put pants on. Bond said if students are thinking of wearing pajamas to campus, they should just go back home. She said if students do not put effort in getting dressed, it makes her think they will not put effort into their school- work.

English professor Hurshel Burton said pajamas should not be a way for a student to express who they are because that message gets misinterpreted when students wear pajamas.

“Did you roll out of bed and come to class? Did you think about get-ting dressed?” Burton said. “Will you wear pajamas to a scholarship interview or to a speech presentation?”
Burton said: “What if the president of the United States comes to your class? And what if the teacher wants to highlight some work you did, but you’re wearing Hello Kitty pajama pants? You don’t know what situation you’re going to be in.”

Burton said he understands finals week may be crazy for some students – some have a final or two a day while studying for other exams and working. He said he has been in that situation before, and it’s completely understand- able for students to wear pajamas during a final exam. “If you stayed up all night studying for finals and you are beat and haven’t had any sleep, by all means, come take your finals in pajamas,” he said.
Zephyr Basina, college fashion editor of wrote in an article titled “Don’t Wear Pajamas to Class” that schools such as Illinois State University require a business casual dress code for students majoring in marketing or education.

If a student were to present a speech about endangered birds while wearing Angry Birds pajama pants, that student would not get his or her message across, Burton said.
He said professors recognize when students dress “college smart,” even if it includes jeans and a T-shirt paired with nice shoes. Instructors notice when students make an effort to “present themselves in a certain way,” he said. The message is to dress for success, even if it is jeans and a sweater for that day, because, as Burton said before, you never know the situation.

Basina suggested a cute pair of sweats as a better option to stay comfy while avoiding wearing pajama pants or pajamas to school. In her article, Basina said that wearing pajamas to a college campus is beyond disrespectful to the professor and to fellow class- mates. According to “What not to wear on campus,” an article by Carl Azuz on the Schools of Thought blog on, students should not dress like they are sit- ting around watching Hulu and eating cold pizza if they are going to spend money on higher education.

Because jeans sometimes aren't very comfy, but you want to be comfy and look pulled together. This new #pajamatrend will make any gal look stylish and hip.

A few weeks ago I went over to Maleni's parents house which I nicknamed Casa De Mi Padre, yes after the movie for an irrelevant reason. The day I was there her dad was making fajitas and Maleni was making some guacamole so I decided to put my food photography skills some use and shot these mouthwatering shots. Enjoy and don't get too hungry.

So this was the second time that I shot using the studio at school. I uploaded some on Facebook but the ones I really like which are the ones with red and blue lighting weren't uploading right. Like I said I would upload all my pictures here so I decided to just post them on here. I love the one with the darker lighting they just have a darker tone and feel to me. Well hope you enjoy these images I've been trying to shoot anytime I'm free to improve my skills. I love how creative things can get stay tuned for some more fashion/style shots coming soon :)
